Dr Duncan's research focuses on sports media, sport business, society and culture.

Dr Duncan's research appears in journals such as Sport, Ethics and Philosophy; Physical Culture and Sport: Studies and Research; Cosmos and History: the Journal of Natural and Social Philosophy and Sport in Society.

His doctoral research explored the relationship between play, community and the AFL.
